Is this all legit?
Yes! We have set up as an organisation, and have a NZBN (New Zealand Business Number) issued from the NZ Companies office. Our registration number is 9429049517385
Where does my money go?o When you join, there is a $10 admin cost - $7 of this comes off in credit card fees, and the remaining $3 is to help cover website and event costs.
o The remaining $185 is split into two – so you are contributing $92.50 into the prize pool for each 6 monthly event. How does it add up to $23,000?o Our goal is to give away at least $23,000 each year to deserving local groups and individuals:
o 125 people contributing $185 each (excl admin cost) = $23,125 each year o 2 events – $11,563 available for each event o 1st prize gets $10,000, 2nd and 3rd prize get $781 each o The total amount available and amounts for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be announced at the start of each event, and will be available on the website before each event. |
What happens if you don't get to 125 members?
o We’d love to get to 125 members before the first event so that we can give away a minimum of $10,000 straight away. However, we have to start somewhere, and something is better than nothing!
o For each event, the total amount of funding available will be made up by:
o Number of members at the date of the event x $92.50
o So, if for the first event, we have 30 members, the total funding available will be $2,775.
o The total amount available and amounts for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be announced at the start of each event, and will be available on the website before each event.

What happens if you get more than 125 members?
o Amazing! That means we give more away at each event.
